Allan Mowat - Founding Partner

Managing Director - Orlando, FL Office

Allan received a B.Sc. with honors from Robert Gordon’s Institute of Technology in Aberdeen, Scotland and is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Allan was one of the first in the world to achieve FileMaker 10 certification

Allan started his career as a design engineer for Marconi Space and Defense Systems.  During the first 12 years of his career, he gained experience as an applications engineer, software developer for automated test equipment, and sales support engineer -- while traveling the world.

During the last 25 years, Allan has held sales and development positions -- from Sales Engineer to North American Sales Manager.  He has developed expertise in dealing with small businesses that have limited budgets, as well as working with major national and International companies who have purchased millions of dollars of product. Allan’s background has enabled him to become knowledgeable about a wide variety of customer needs, including sales, service, support, and manufacturing.

Allan is a FileMaker Certified Developer in versions 10 thru 15.

Alan Kicks - Founding Partner

Managing Director - Franklin Lakes, NJ Office

Alan has been involved with FileMaker products since their very beginning. With a background in Electrical Engineering and his degree from Stevens Institute of Technology (NJ), Alan has been able to work all over the world, as an automation engineer in a wide variety of industries. Alan’s background and experience in technology and problem-solving made FileMaker a natural fit, as he has managed many types of projects over the years.

In 1993, Alan formed EMS Solutions, Inc., a specialty software company serving the Emergency Medical Services community, a personal passion. With over 40 years of experience as an EMT/CPR Instructor, NAEMT PHTLS Instructor, and EMS Responder in his state, Alan brings expertise and management capability in high-stress situations to AL3 Technologies. Alan developed his first vertical solution was a Training Center management program for supporters of the American Heart Association's CPR programs, still in use today around the world.

Alan provides AL3 Technologies with expertise in server management, AWS support, and security. In addition, corporate communications, licensing and financial correspondence are his responsibility.

Alan is a FileMaker Certified Developer in versions 13, 14 and 15.

Greg Price - Partner

Managing Director - Dallas, TX Office

After receiving his B.S. in Advertising Design from the University of Delaware, Greg went a more technical route, working in the Prepress industry for 20 years. For a few years, he held mainly technical and supervisory positions. In 2000, he accepted a position as Database Administrator in-house at a Fortune 100 Consumer Product Goods company, where he immersed himself in technical and sales roles that involved constant interface with customers. Here he developed his skill at managing customer expectations, planning and deploying improvements to software and hardware, and tailoring solutions to customers’ unique requirements.

At the beginning of his career, he started working in FileMaker v2.1, mainly as a hobbyist.  He developed his skills on personal projects (the first was a system that managed his martial arts training). Starting in 2000, he took on contract work with FileMaker, and, after many years building a customer base, Greg left his corporate position in 2015 to become a full-time FileMaker developer. He enjoys meshing his coding experience with his design background, to develop complex solutions that afford an effortless user experience.

Greg is a FileMaker Certified Developer in versions 14 thru 17 and is Co-Chair of the Dallas FileMaker Users Group.

Scott Schley - Partner

Managing Director - Arlington, TX Office

After graduating with a BFA in Communication Graphics from Texas Christian University in 1992, Scott held various design and art director positions before moving into technologies. His first major system built over 25 years ago, is still in use today managing creative operations at a major fashion retailer. From this initial endeavor, Scott has continued to collaborate with executive, end user and technology partners to develop, test, launch and maintain numerous FileMaker based systems. Additionally, he has been engaged with large corporate IT initiatives as a business solutions, development and delivery manager on numerous large scale projects from start to finish. He has direct experience in digital content management, retail procurement, e-commerce, digital transformations, warehouse management, finance, time share and CRM solutions. He has supervised and developed solutions for desktop and mobile devices.

Scott’s goal for every customer interaction is to listen and understand the unique needs of each customer. Then collaboratively design an experience that meets the original needs and leverages best practices from other industries. The resulting solutions are user friendly, efficient and flexible to meet the ever changing needs of the client. 

Scott is a FileMaker Certified Developer in version 18.
